With only two weekends left to go, many groups will end their season at Columbia City, Lawrence Central, or Norwell this weekend, while others will go on to compete one last time at State the following weekend.

News and Notes
Top spots hold steady
Carroll and Columbia City continue to cling on to the top spots in their divisions. Despite a close loss to Churubusco at Huntington North, Columbia City’s record this year keeps them just ahead of Churubusco for now. Meanwhile, Carroll will close out their season with Norwell, then by attending Show Choir Nationals alongside other top groups from around the country.
Homestead’s Climb
Homestead has, as the kids say, locked in. While they struggled their first two weekends, they took second at Huntington North and again the next weekend at Busco, beating Northrop both times. They’ll be finishing their season at Columbia City this weekend, where they’ll be fighting for their first Grand Champion title this season.
Churubusco’s Jump
Similarly to Homestead, Churubusco had a rough start. But at Huntington North they pulled through and beat Jay County and DeKalb for the second time, and Columbia City for the first time. It’s unclear if Churubusco is planning on attending state or ending their season at Columbia City.

News and Notes
Massive Upset at Huntington North
Indiana’s unisex division has been absolute chaos this year. Fort Wayne is no different. After making overall finals out of state, Noblesville New Dimension was the favorite to win at Huntington North. Not only did two Fort Wayne unisex groups join Westfield in blocking them from finals, but the small-but-mighty 17-member Columbia City “City Lights” took fourth place in prelims.
Huntington North and Columbia City
Huntington North Viking Volume and Columbia City are essentially neck and neck as of right now. At DeKalb, Columbia City pulled off a comfortable victory over Huntington North vocally and visually. However, after not competing against each other for a few weeks, they rematched at Jay County. Huntington North won first place in prelims with Best Visuals, however City Lights took Best Vocals. In finals, Huntington North managed to maintain their lead and won the division, but the captions flipped - HN took vocals and CC took visuals. With both groups being 1-1, they’ll have to decide who’s on top at state.
