Burbank Blast!
Advanced Mixed 1 Results: 1st) John Burroughs “Powerhouse” (Music/Show) 2nd) Los Alamitos “Sound FX” 3rd) Horizon “Step on Stage” 4th) John F. Kennedy “Executive Order”
Advanced Mixed 2 Results: 1st) Cypress “High Voltage” (Music) 2nd) Glendora “Royal Stewarts” 3rd) Hart “Collective Harts” 4th) La Cueva “Underground” (Show) 5th) Bonita Vista “The Music Machine”
The first matchup of the season between John Burroughs and Los Alamitos went to Burroughs, who will now head to Wheaton Warrenville South in Chicago. Los Al has now come in second to both Burroughs and Burbank in 2026, meaning that Sound FX will enter their next competition, HOA Orlando, with a fire under them. Horizon cleared the Arizona field at Boulder Creek in February, and now they have a pristine third place on their resume this season, showing that they can run with the California top advanced division. Cypress continued a very successful 2026 season by taking their second division win of the season, placing one spot ahead of Glendora for the third consecutive weekend in a row. Hart rebounded from a tough Chaparral competition with a podium, setting themselves on the right foot before hosting on Mar. 21. La Cueva, always a bit of a wildcard, had a chaotic result with fourth and showmanship before heading to Valley Vista this upcoming weekend. Intermediate mixed featured a split-caption decision with Los Al Connexion winning over John Burroughs Sound Waves and an upstart Granada Hills, who made the move up from novice.
Fairfield Crystal Classic
Final Results
GC: Loveland “By Request” (BC/BB)
1RU: Zionsville “Royalaires” (BV)
2RU: Millard West “West in the Groove”
4RU: Plainfield “Belles et Beaux”
Womens Winner: Plainfield “Femmes Fatales”
Small Mixed Winner: Tarpon Springs “Syndicated Sound”
By Request took the Crystal Classic by storm, leading after the prelims round and holding that in the finals round. Loveland is definitely peaking at the right time as they head to Show Choir Nationals, where they will be right in the thick of a very competitive battle for finals. Zionsville scored another one for Indiana singing, taking the vocal caption over a field of formidable competitors. Millard West rounded out their season on the podium, their eighth consecutive podium finish dating back to the middle of last season. Brandon won the battle of America-themed shows over Plainfield, with both groups closing the door on any middle mixed groups making finals. Plainfield Femmes Fatales took an upset win over the Zionsville Choralaires and Loveland Allure in finals, throwing another wrench in what has been an unpredictable Indiana single-gender season. Tarpon Springs Syndicated Sound made the drive up from Florida and cleaned out small mixed finals over Buckeye Valley, Norwood and West Jessamine.
Sioux City East Sing All About It!
Final Results
GC: Gretna East “Equinox” (BV)
1RU: Elkhorn North “adrENaline”
2RU: Bishop Heelan “Harmonia Mundi”
3RU: Mitchell “Friend de Coup” (BC/BB)
4RU: Sioux Center “Satisfaction”
5RU: Sioux Falls Roosevelt “Executive Suite”
A tri-state clash ended with Nebraska taking the top two spots, as Gretna East claimed their third win of the season and sixth of the past two seasons. Elkhorn North continued their years-long ascent as well, claiming their fourth consecutive podium finish in deep contests. Bishop Heelan always seems to click in March, and that run began on Saturday. They evened the score on Sioux Center from two weeks ago at Spirit Lake and also beat Mitchell for the first time since (on record, at least) since 2002. FDC’s fourth with two captions make two featured competitions this week a “fourth and visual caption” scenario. They will head to another very tough competition in Brownsburg this weekend, battling several Indiana titans. Sioux Center continues to have a generational season for their program, notching their sixth finals appearance of the season with one more competition to go. Sioux Falls Roosevelt completed their season with a finals appearance, making them five-for-five on evening rounds this year. Executive Suite cleared fellow South Dakota program Aberdeen Central as well as Nebraska outfit Grand Island to make finals.
Wildcard: Southlake Carroll Showdown
Final Results
GC: Broken Arrow “Tiger Rhythm” (BV/BC/BB)
1RU: Keller Central “Voices of Central”
2RU: Keller “Blue Lights”
3RU: Fossil Ridge “Pantheon”
4RU: L.D. Bell “The Bell System”
5RU: Keller Central “Voltage”
6RU: Burleson Centennial “Shades of Blue”
There was a big shakeup between prelims and finals, as Keller Central was leading after prelims but Broken Arrow stormed back to take a clean sweep in finals for their fourth win of the season. Regardless, VOC will head to HOA Orlando with a load of momentum, having placed first, second and third this season. Keller Blue Lights recorded their 18th consecutive podium finish at Texas competitions, remaining a consistent contender among the state’s top tier of groups. Fossil Ridge ends the season with a trio of fourth-place finishes, landing in finals or placements at every Texas competition this season. Bell falls in much the same category, placing fourth, fifth and sixth this season. Keller Central Voltage won the womens division and made finals for the first time since Rouse in 2022. Legacy and Arlington both missed finals here after advancing at Keller Central last weekend.
As more groups travel in the middle or late portions of the season, competitions become all the more intriguing. Comps of the Week will cover all of the best stories later this week.
