News and Notes
Pendelton provided major results this week: top ranked Center Grove Sound System swept both Best Vocals and Visuals in a victory over third ranked Franklin Central and eighth ranked Fishers. Behind the expected result, all of these groups showed exceptional improvement from earlier in the season as they enter the most difficult stretch of their seasons.
With Brownsburg hosting a bevy of top talent on its stage this Saturday, this division will likely see some shakeups, with top in-state and out of states groups facing off. From Indianapolis, Carmel, Franklin Central, Zionsville, and Avon will fight to take top honors, with Franklin Central and Zionsville looking to cap off their 2026 campaign with one final Grand Championship. Just four groups move on to finals, which is no guarantee for these Indiana groups with perennial programs, Mitchell Freind de Coup from South Dakota and Glenwood Titan Fever, making the journey into the Indianapolis gauntlet.
Two top ten ranked groups will head to Marysville, Ohio, to face one of California's titans. Lafayette Jefferson will open the day in the small mixed division while Fishers will compete in large mixed. If both groups make finals, Fishers will have the chance to avenge their earlier loss to Lafayette Jefferson at the Homestead Classic Showcase in mid-February. These groups will take on Los Angeles powerhouse, Burbank In Sync, who is coming off a debut grand championship at Esperanza.

News and Notes
Ranking the groups in Indy’s large womens division becomes increasingly difficult as the season progresses. No result made that more difficult than Pendleton Heights on Saturday, where Fishers Sound and Center Grove Debtones tied for the Grand Championship. After their performance, the two groups tied on points, and the judges determined both groups deserved the top spot. What commenced was an unfamiliar sight at an awards ceremony, with both groups ending the night not as rivals, but as friends. This moment of camaraderie was unusual, with results typically offering the joy of victory to one group and the agony of defeat to others. Instead, on Saturday, the talent and work of these premier Single Gender groups showcased that at least for one day, these young women had been so phenomenal that to name one performance better than the other was nearly impossible. So, while these groups will once again compete at Show Choir Nationals, and a tie is unlikely to occur again, for now, we should all celebrate the amazing accomplishments of these two programs as equals.
Brownsburg Starlight Voices took their first grand championship of the season at the Avon Vocal Invitational, sweeping both Best Vocals and Visuals ahead of upstart Lawrence North.
Plainfield Femmes Fatales came home from Fairfield, Ohio with their first grand championship of the season in a shocking split-caption victory over Zionsville, advancing from second to first in finals. While the Choralaires remain vocally undefeated, Femmes Fatales proved they are in top-tier form as they return to Indianapolis for The Classic at Lawrence Central and a chance to beat eighth ranked North Central after falling behind them earlier in the season.
Westfield Illumination took their third grand championship of the season and in their program's history with a sweeping victory over Mt. Zion's Single Gender groups at Glenwood The EVENT. Illumination returns to the Indianapolis circuit for the Brownsburg Bulldog Spectacular, where they will be fighting to make finals against some of Indiana's best.
The Brownsburg Bulldog Spectacular will be the proving ground for one of the most interesting showdowns of the season, with four of the top six ranked groups competing for the top spot. Third ranked Franklin Central, fourth ranked Carmel, and fifth ranked Zionsville are looking to bounce back and take their third grand championship of the season after 1RU or 2RU placements their last time out. Sixth ranked Avon also has a pair of grand championships this season. With just four spots in finals, 10th-ranked Westfield will look to steal the spotlight as a dark horse to upset one of these top six for a finals spot.

Small Mixed
Roncalli "Royal Rhapsody" (5 first-place votes)
Columbus North “Vocal Pointe”
Huntington North “Varsity Singers”
Franklin Community “Heritage Singers”
Pendleton Heights “Pendletones”
Receiving Votes: Mooresville “Spotlighters”, Northridge “Northern Lights", Whiteland “Rhythm Masters”
News and Notes
The small mixed division joined their large mixed counterpart by remaining stable.
Northridge notched an impressive performance at the Avon Vocal Invitational as the northern Indiana group won the small mixed division in Prelims and made finals.
Roncalli finished their regular season with a victory at New Palestine as they look to secure their second straight ISSMA state title. If Roncalli wins state, they would complete their third consecutive undefeated season in the small mixed division, continuing on a pattern of excellence for the program that continues to outplace large mixed groups.

Small Womens
Cathedral "Irish Adrenaline" (5 first-place votes)
Pendleton Heights “Emerald Suites”
Columbus North “North Stars”
Lafayette Jefferson “Expressions” (+1)
Columbia City “City Lights” (-1)
Receiving Votes: Huntington North “Viking Volume”, Mooresville “Finesse”
News and Notes
Lafayette Jefferson Expressions took a major win at Churubusco, defeating Homestead for an overall Single Gender GC, their second win in three competitions. Although a third victory appears unlikely against strong competition, the Expressions look to cap off an impressive season at the Marysville Showcase in Ohio.
Huntington North Viking Volume took Best Vocals and the grand championship this week over Columbia City at the Jay County Show Choir Spectacular, reversing last week's result. This was a strong showing for both groups who have been battling back and forth for most of the season in Fort Wayne. Both groups will likely get one more opportunity to show they deserve to be in the top five when they face off once again at ISSMA small school state finals.
The Columbia City Cup will serve as a battleground for five Fort Wayne small groups this weekend, offering one final opportunity to shine before ISSMA finals. Huntington North and Northridge will duel following their divisional GCs last weekend.
