Placing just behind CG was North Central, who outplaced Zionsville, elevating two positions following first and second places to begin their season.
Carmel opened its season with a statement grand championship, topping a nationally competitive lineup at the Chesterton Trojan Classic, which included some of the best groups across the country. Carmel swept both major captions and beat fourth-ranked Franklin Central and tenth-ranked Carroll in their debut win.
Lafayette Jefferson improved to seventh this week following a split caption grand championship over Fishers at the Homestead Classic Showcase. While unranked to begin the season, First Edition has now won Best Vocals in back-to-back weeks over top Indianapolis groups, asserting their vocal prowess even with just over two dozen performers on stage. Fishers will look to rebound a week later against top groups, both in-state and out-of-state, at Center Grove.
This week’s marquee matchup occurs at Center Grove Best of the Midwest, where three of the top eight groups in the state will face off. Third-ranked North Central and fourth-ranked Franklin Central will look for their second grand championships of the season following first runner-up performances last week. Meanwhile, eighth-ranked Fishers and Alabama contender Oak Mountain are seeking their first grand championship in 2026, following second places with major captions in their debuts.

News and Notes
Center Grove remained undefeated this week, defeating Zionsville and North Central at Pike MusicFest. While the Debtones grabbed Best Choreography, they dropped Best Vocals for the first time since 2024 to Zionsville. While Zionsville picked up Best Vocals, North Central outplaced them for First Runner Up, continuing their strong start to the season, which includes a victory over Avon and Plainfield.
Carmel opened their season with a grand championship at the Chesterton Trojan Classic. The Accents swept both major captions, defeating Franklin Central and Westfield. Illumination surprised many when they reached the three-group finals over Carroll and Virginia’s Cosby, cementing themselves as one of the top ten single-gender groups in the state of Indiana.
Center Grove features a marquee matchup this week, providing an opportunity for performances by four of the top six groups in the rankings. Fishers Sound will be the favorite coming off their sweep at Homestead. They are joined by 4th ranked Descants, who have risen four places in only two weeks' time. They are also joined by Franklin Central High Voltage, looking to secure their second grand championship of the season as well as Alabama’s Oak Mountain Muses, who swept their season debut and are a strong contender out of the south.

While Huntington North missed finals in their large mixed debut last week, Varsity Singers look to storm back in full force at the DeKalb Choir Festival, taking on Columbia City and Churubusco, who have both received votes in recent weeks, in the small mixed division.
