Gretna and Wahoo Rise to the Top: Nebraska Show Choir Rankings 2/13/26

Last weekend's results, from Omaha to Grand Island, resulted in several changes to the rankings. Two familiar top dogs return to first in their respective divisions.

Three regional experts evaluated 35 of Nebraska’s top show choirs to determine the rankings. While divisions are primarily based on NSAA cutlines, some adjustments were made for groups that compete in multiple divisions throughout the season.
Large School
1. Gretna “Revolution” (3 first-place votes, +1)

The results are here from the Papio South Titan Classic. Gretna outperformed Millard West in a tight battle for the gold and moved up to the primary position in our rankings. The next challenge for Gretna is beating the top groups at Chesterton this weekend. Millard West will have a weekend off and will get back on track for their competition at Omaha South the week after.
Lincoln East is back in their groove for the season. After a sixth at Gretna and dropping from Gretna East due to sickness, a close encounter with Elkhorn South at Lincoln Southwest yielded a win and Best Choreography for Express.

Despite no changes in the single-gender rankings, the experts are split between on which group should get first place. Illumination had a battle against Prism last weekend and proved themselves once again to be one of the top tier single-gender groups in Nebraska. Uptown placed first in their division and made it into the evening round for the night.
Simply Irresistible stays stable in the rankings. This weekend they will have the challenge of facing Johnston's and Linn-Mar's fierce womens groups at Urbandale.

News and Notes
Evo and Scats have had their battle at Papio South last weekend. Evo pulled up to the venue with vocals and visuals ready to go and took home the gold. They also made an appearance in finals and were able to place higher than Uptown, Millard West's womens group.
Intensity is back on the rankings after placing first against Elkhorn North at the Elkhorn Red Carpet Classic.

News and Notes
Skutt and Blair had a wonderful time at Elkhorn Red Carpet Classic. Blair made some noise and placed fifth overall in finals. Skutt made their statement as one of the top small schools of Nebraska as they placed fourth in finals.
Wahoo was able to outperform Norfolk and successfully make it into finals. They have been given two first-place votes from our experts from their impressive performance at Lincoln Southwest.
