One regional competition and two separate events make up another weekend for Southern show choir as we near the end of the 2026 competition season! Prepare for the end with us as we go over who is competing where, and what we can expect to see at each competition!
Madison Central Deep South Classic
With no competing 4A groups, this event becomes a battle of the 3A groups. Northwest Rankin, Biloxi, and Hamilton all enter this event with a legitimate shot at walking away with a Grand Championship. Northwest Rankin is coming off a very strong performance at Biloxi, where they earned 1RU over groups like Grenada and Sauk Prairie. Hamilton has had a stellar debut season, already beating programs like Prairie and Biloxi. Biloxi is coming off of a three-week break from their last competition and will be fully prepared to perform. With all of this in mind, the top three spots should be closely contested.
Not only will there be a close battle in the 3A division, but the single-gender tier shows promise as well. Both treble and bass groups from Biloxi and Northwest Rankin will be competing here, with the treble groups having a good opportunity to make finals. In the 2A tier, Jackson Prep will be facing a somewhat unfamiliar competitor as Pass Christian will be stepping into the 2A tier for this competition. In the 1A division, Clinton Christian Academy look to be the favorites and hold off the likes of Pisgah, Morton, and Tishomingo County.

As I am sure most of you readers are aware, Show Choir Nationals will also be taking place this weekend in Nashville. While HomeRoom has a separate article dedicated to Nationals coverage, it’s worth listing what Southern groups will be attending the event: Homewood (large mixed and treble), Grenada, and Donelson Christian Academy. Over in Orlando, filling in 3 of the 4 competing groups (large mixed, treble, and bass), Auburn will compete against Uniondale at FAME Show Choir America.
Come right back here after the weekend is over for a dissection of all the results, whether they be chalk or upsets. Good luck to all the groups!
