The southern season came to close in the Brandon High School gymnasium, where Northwest Rankin walked away with a sweep Grand Championship and placed two groups in the overall top five. This marks two consecutive Grand Championship titles, both immediately following the announcement of their director, Toney Keeler, leaving next season for Jackson Prep. In accordance with their Biloxi performance, Jackson Academy placed second at this event over Northeast Jones, who finished in third. South Jones and Northwest Rankin The Allure rounded out the top groups in fourth and fifth, respectively.
With South Jones making the overall top five, that also meant a 2A division win over Burleson Centennial. Clinton Christian Academy won the 1A division, with Pisgah, Pass Christian, and Morton following in that respective order. Northwest Rankin’s treble group avenged their intraprogram loss from last weekend and beat their bass group (along with Cristo Rey Fort Worth) to win the single-gender division. Overall results are posted below (no finals):
1st) Northwest Rankin “The Ambassadors” (Sweep)
2nd) Jackson Academy “Encore”
3rd) Northeast Jones “Gold Horizons”
4th) South Jones “Company”
