The fourth annual Jenks Trochella is the premier Oklahoma competition of the year. After moving their date from a very late-season April to Feb. 14, more choirs are allowed to love this now-festive Valentine’s Day competition.

Single-Gender Division

  • Broken Arrow “Tiger Mystique”

  • Lexington “Pitch Slapped”

  • Lexington “Testostertones”

  • Joplin “Men of Note” (MO)

  • Joplin “Touch of Class” (MO)

  • Claremore “Sound Express”

With two schools bringing in two single-gender choirs and other contenders in attendance, it is very possible to see one or even two of these groups sneak into finals. After a second overall finish at last year's Trochella, Tiger Mystique is looking to be that choir, but they will have to face off against a strong Touch of Class, after not facing off since 2024, where TOC had the upper hand in finals. Other notable stories include the competition debut of two new choirs in Joplin’s Men of Note, who will face off against Lexington’s Testostertones for the best mens group at the event, as well as Claremore, who is back after a long hiatus, not competing since 2019.

Small Mixed Division

  • Cabool “Rhythm in Blue” (MO)

  • El Dorado Springs “Sound Collage” (MO)

  • Mustang “Backstage Broncos”

  • Bixby “Spartan Genesis”

  • Durant “Sound Etc.”

  • Guymon “Tiger Tonality”

Despite being in small mixed, many of the groups here are finals contenders and wildcards. El Dorado Springs returns for their fourth year after snagging third in finals last year and hope to come back just as strong with their “Tower of Terror” show. Mustang, also returning for their fourth year, have been on the outside looking in, but with a huge boost in the program (now home to 36 performers), it is very possible to see the Backstage Broncos have a second run. Durant, Cabool, and Guymon all return for their second year at Trochella, each missing finals the first time, and each hoping to remove the underdog titles and hop into a pretty open finals slate. Bixby will be making their competitive debut as a first-year program after an amazing season for their middle school last year.

Large Mixed Division

  • Enid “Rhythm in Blue”

  • McDonald County “Rhapsody n’ Rhythm” (MO)

  • Lexington “Southern Accents”

  • Broken Arrow “Tiger Rhythm”

  • Joplin “Sound Dimension” (MO)

With three choirs with “Rhythm” in their names, it is bound to be confusing, but luckily there are not two choirs with the same name. Right? Wrong, but Enid’s Rhythm in Blue (Cabool's large mixed name counterpart) is one of those choirs to keep an eye on in the next couple of years. Having attended the very first Trochella, back when it was named the “Jenks Trojan Show Choir Invitational”, Enid is sure to turn the heads of those who forgot the name and separate themselves from Rhythm in Blue mentioned before. McDonald County makes their out-of-state debut in their 16-year program history, and they are looking to make some magic after just missing finals at Joplin. Lexington is back after a one-year hiatus and they are not messing around, and being the one of the few Oklahoma choirs that are already competition-tested, they are a finals favorite. Joplin, too, is back after a one-year hiatus where they placed second overall to Broken Arrow Tiger Rhythm. On the note of Broken Arrow, this group is coming off a three-peat at Jenks and look to make it four. Since the competition's first year, Tiger Rhythm has yet to lose a major caption and they don’t look to stop here.
