Choirs from across the state of Iowa will compete this Saturday at the Cedar Rapids Washington Mo Show. Cedar Rapids Kennedy Happiness Inc. is looking to get its first win of the season. However, the overall mixed division is looking very tightly matched this year.

Womens Division

Southeast Polk “Vocal Gold”

Cedar Rapids Kennedy “Protégé”

The womens division at Washington this Saturday only has two groups, and the favorite going in is Vocal Gold. They have started off their season with two first-place finishes, but Protégé could prove to be tough competition.

1A/3A Divisions

Williamsburg “Sound Attraction”

Anamosa “Sadie Street Singers”

Marion “New Creation”

Keota “EagleRock!”

The second tier of mixed division competitors at Washington is looking awfully familiar to last year’s lineup, with exactly the same mix of three 3A ensembles and Keota from 2025's edition returning for 2026. Marion is expected to come out on top as a group that is constantly getting better each season, and New Creation has not finished off the overall podium at any competition in 2026.

4A Division

Clear Creek Amana “Vocal Dynamics”

Southeast Polk “RAMification”

Iowa City West “Good Time Company”

Cedar Rapids Kennedy "Happiness Inc.”

The marquee mixed division has a couple familiar competitors and one notable newcomer. While Kennedy Happiness Inc. is historically successful at Mo-Show, Ramification could put up a fight with their refined vocals that accompany a show about Beethoven. Iowa City West Good Time Company has also beaten Kennedy in recent memory so this tier has some potential for thin margins.

Finals Predictions

Predictions represent the opinion of this contributor and not of HomeRoom Show Choir.

GC: Cedar Rapids Kennedy “Happiness Inc.” (BV/BC)

1st Runner Up: Marion “New Creation” (BB)

2nd Runner Up: Southeast Polk “RAMification”

3rd Runner Up: Iowa City West “Good Time Company”

4th Runner Up: Anamosa “Sadie Street Singers”

5th Runner Up: Clear Creek Amana “Vocal Dynamics”

The finals gauntlet this year is particularly tight. While Happiness took the GC last year at Mo Show, some judges had Marion or Iowa City West ahead of the group in the vocals category. Kennedy needs to be on their A game if they want to claim the win. Marion New Creation has a good show this year and have historically been favored at this competition. Southeast Polk RAMification, who is new to the competition, will likely put up a good fight to be on the podium. This could potentially change if Iowa City West Good Time Company does particularly well. The fight for the third place is looking like the most competitive at this competition. That leaves the Sadie Street Singers from Anamosa and Clear Creek Amana Vocal Dynamics to take the fifth and sixth spots.
