The Texas Show Choir season is off and rolling!

What to Know About Mixed

The season started at the Cowtown Classic on February 7th, with Keller Central Voices of Central making a statement, sweeping the field towards a Grand Championship. This left Keller Blue Lights with a second place trophy for the first time in Texas, to a Texas ensemble, since 2023. Not to mention, they went home caption-less, a rare sight for the established ensemble. While Voices of Central and Blue Lights go for round two, there are others looking to cash in at L.D. Bell as well.

The other choirs competing in the mixed division at the HEB Invitational includes Fossil Ridge Pantheon, Timber Creek Aerodynamix, Arlington Choraliers, Burleson Breakaway, Legacy Silver Elite, and out of town powerhouse Broken Arrow Tiger Rhythm. Out of these choirs, three are making their season debuts this weekend: Arlington, Burleson, and Legacy. How they place remains to be seen, however it certainly will be rewarding for the students' hard work to pay off after months of preparation. With them just getting started; Timber Creek, Fossil Ridge, and Broken Arrow have all seen the stage this season.

Aerodynamix (ADX) out of Timber Creek High School is sporting a Titanic show this year, that earned them fourth runner up and the “People’s Choice” award at Cowtown. This program continues to grow year after year putting on note-worthy productions that wow audiences each time out. Pantheon from Fossil Ridge is also doing a historic theme this year, however rather than sailing the sea they are up in the air with Amelia Earhart. This show captivated the crowd at Cowtown allowing them to take home third runner up and Best Soloist! Not only are they taking flight, they are reaching new heights this season.

Lastly, Broken Arrow’s Tiger Rhythm has had an outstanding start to their 2026 season. Their show titled “Haus of Grey” highlights Dorian Grey's life as he learns to deal with the fame he’s stumbled into. Haus of Grey has taken home second place at Blue Valley Tiger Takedown, and swept the past two competitions at Joplin in the Spotlight and Jenks Trochella. They are on a mission this season, is Texas show choir enough to throw Broken Arrow off their game?

What to Know About Prep & Treble

Moving on to the Prep and Treble divisions, there are four groups competing in this year's invitational. The groups include Cristo Rey College Prep’s Blazin’ Blue, Keller Central's Voltage, Keller's Lumina, and out-of -state Broken Arrow Tiger Mystique.

This season has treated Keller Central Voltage well so far with a second place finish at the Cowtown Classic, placing only behind Jenks High School's Airemen. Keller Lumina fell just short of Voltage at the same competition, taking home a third place finish. Meanwhile, Broken Arrow Tiger Mystique is coming off of a Grand Championship in their division and third overall at Jenks Trochella last weekend. They also received second place at Joplin (MO) falling to well-known Bella Vocé from Webb City High School. That leaves us Cristo Rey Blazin’ Blue, who has yet to compete this year. Best of luck to those students as they get ready to kick off another great season!
