Choirs from three different states across the Midwest will convene at Fort Madison, Iowa on Saturday to compete. Southeast Polk is looking to cap off their season on a high note, but a mix of other choirs could shake things up.
Prep Division
Southeast Polk “Vocal Gold”
Evans Middle “Supernova”
The prep division at Stars In The Spotlight will have two groups competing in it. Southeast Polk “Vocal Gold” is looking to take the victory over Evans Middle and perhaps have a shot at making finals as they did last year at this event.
1A/3A Division
Washington “Cinematics”
Chillicothe “Choraliers”
Keokuk “Purple Harmony”
Mt. Pleasant “InMotion”
Mediapolis “Spontaneous Combustion”
Central Lee “CENTRifugAL Force”
The second tier of mixed division features an assortment of up-and-coming choirs, alongside a couple historically established choirs. Mt. Pleasant “InMotion” is the likely favorite to win this division, but Mt. Pleasant has been in close competition with Central Lee “CENTRifugAL Force” the past few years.
4A Division
Quincy “Electric Blue”
Hannibal “River City Revue”
Southeast Polk “RAMification”
Following a strong second runner up performance last week, Southeast Polk is looking to come out on top and take their first grand championship of the season. However, the other two groups in this division are riding off some momentum. Both Hannibal "River City Revue” and Quincy Senior “Electric Blue” took grand championships at their most recent competition, with Quincy winning their first ever GC in program history last weekend at Central Lee.
Finals Predictions
Predictions represent the opinion of this contributor and not of HomeRoom Show Choir.
GC: Southeast Polk “RAMification” (BC, BB)
1st Runner Up: Hannibal “River City Revue” (BV)
2nd Runner Up: Quincy “Electric Blue”
3rd Runner Up: Mt. Pleasant “InMotion”
4th Runner Up: Southeast Polk “Vocal Gold”
5th Runner Up: Central Lee “CENTRifugAl force”
I'm predicting Southeast Polk is predicted to take the grand championship on Saturday as a fitting conclusion to their season. The innovative choreography of Lexi Robson-Buglewicz and Braxton Carr should put them in a strong position to win. The podium this year looks like it will be dominated by the 4A division, with the energy of “River City Revue” and “Electric Blue” elevating Hannibal and Quincy into the second and third place spots. Mt. Pleasant will sneak in at 3rd Runner-Up, just missing the podium. Look for “Vocal Gold” to close out their season on a high note, placing just ahead of "CENTRifugAL force.
