Winner's Circle, Nov. 2025: Grove City, Vista Ridge Repeat

By William Soquet, Editor-in-Chief

Another fall competition season has come and gone, although it is admittedly a shell of what it used to be. Seneca, Missouri’s lone fall contest, did not occur this year, and Bluffton, Indiana’s fall contest, held its last dance in September 2022. However, there are still two winners to be celebrated, as well as several handfuls of schools that are hosting noncompetitive showcase-style events in the fall to keep the show choir spirit alive.

Nebraska

Scottsbluff: Vista Ridge Rhythm dispatched both Vista PEAK ensembles to claim the win at the Old West Choir Fest. This was Vista Ridge’s second consecutive win at Scottsbluff and fourth in total at the competition, pushing them past Gateway for the most recorded wins at Old West. The Shawna Holland-let outfit now has five wins overall, tied for 210th all-time and tied with Grand Junction Central for the most by any Colorado group. Rhythm will compete at Hastings on January 24, stacking up against Grand Island, Lewis Central, and others in the pursuit of another win.

Ohio

Ada: In a commanding sweep, Grove City Touch of Class dominated the competition at Music Feast, taking Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Band, and Best Show Concept. They easily cleared the rest of the finals field, which included Alliance, Kenton, Teays Valley and Van Buren. This triumph was Grove City’s third consecutive win at Ada – they’re the first ensemble to do so since Findlay took four straight from 2015 to 2018. Grove City now numbers seven total wins, good for a tie for 168th all-time, with five of those wins coming in 2023 or later.
