Things worth noting in the rankings:
Clinton’s Debut:
This upcoming weekend will feature the first showing from Clinton Attaché this season, as they’ll be competing at the Homewood South Central Classic against Oak Mountain, Enterprise, and Northwest Rankin. While Clinton undoubtedly reigns as number-one currently, many people wonder when they will let their crown fall. Will this weekend be that fateful time?
Brandon’s Bounce-Back:
After two less-than-hoped-for weekends of first runner-up placements, Brandon gathered themselves and took the Northeast Jones Classic by the helms for their first GC of the season. This was enough to sway the majority of our voters to raise them to the third spot in their division.
Middle Mixed Movement:
This week sees Hoover and Pearl River Central drop out of the top five middle division groups rankings, replace by Homewood Continuum at 4th and Briarwood Radica at 5th. We’ll also get our second matchup of the season between Northeast Jones and South Jones at the West Jones Invitational this upcoming weekend, which, pending results, could heavily shake up the rankings.
Small Mixed Shuffling:
While Oxford remains the unanimous number-one group, there has been movement in the rankings underneath, with Pisgah jumping from fourth to second and Laurel dropping from third to fifth. We’ll get another huge small division matchup at the West Jones Invitational, so the early morning performances in Laurel will certainly be worth keeping an eye on.
A new batch of poll rankings will be released next week - but be on the lookout for more southern content before then!
