Cathedral Lands Two Choirs in the Top Ten

Cathedral choirs are a recent addition to the Indiana show choir scene; however, this does not mean they aren't skilled. Cathedral has recently taken to the stage and captured five division wins between their mixed and single-gender choirs just this year. In the future, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these choirs climb up the rankings.

Seven Eight Nine

While the top half of both rankings remained unchanged this week, both divisions saw movement in seventh, eighth and ninth. In mixed, Pike rose a spot despite not competing this past weekend, and Whiteland also moved up on an off week for them. In single-gender, New Castle moved up from ninth to eighth this week after a two-spot slide last week.

Stagnant Top Three in Single-Gender

Throughout the past rankings, the top three small single-gender choirs have not seen any movement. Pendleton takes first place with their fantastic vocals and fun choreography. Coming from a small school, Pendleton has always been known to raise the stakes with choir performances one could usually only expect from a large division group. This year alone, the Emerald Suites have won four grand champions along with a 1st runner-up. Huntington North is a recent small division powerhouse; their vocal intensity and stage presence are always sure to wow judging panels. Viking Volume has won one grand champion, two 1st runner-ups, and one 2nd runner-up. Edgewood’s single-gender choir is a relatively new addition to the small division, as they competed in the large up until 2023. A major strength of this group is their choreography and range of style they manage to display in their show. This year, they have won three grand champions and two 2nd runner-ups. While they've held their spots for the past weeks, Northridge has a first-place vote in fourth, threatening to crash the party in future weeks.

A shame Roncalli and Huntington won't be facing off this year
